Hi there,

I'm after some advice on my poor sick Angelfish.

Previously she's been the boss in the tank, but the last week or so I've noticed she's barely eating at all. Sometimes she has a micro flake then often spits it out. There's a large bowl just above her bum, and I haven't seen her poo in over a week.

She also seems to have shrunk a bit this week, which I believe is why her eyes now seem too big for her body. They both seem to stick out from her head. Today she's additionally developed a growth on her right eye which you can see clearly in the pic from behind her.

Just uploading some pics now, will attach them shortly.

btw her name is Paris cause she's blonde and not so smart.. perhaps she's on a hunger strike while her namesake is in jail?

Ok, Pics are uploaded, higher res ones are here

Just testing water quality now, will post results

ok.. water is 28.1C (83 in the old scale) :good:

PH around 7.2
Nitrites: *takes 5 mins, will edit*
Nitrates: *will do after Nitrites*(

I've done 2 x 1/5th water changes in the last week

Try to get him to eat a cooked, de-shelled pea. Also, not eating my have something to do with an internal parasite so mix some minced garlic into the food, try to give the fish a small amount at first, like 1 part garlic to 6 or 7 parts fish food.

G'Day and thanks for the advice. Unfortunately she doesn't seem to like peas (can't really blame her either).. just lets them sit on the bottom!

Any ways to encourage her to eat them?

Good chance that it's internal protizoans. Do you have access to any meds with metronidazole in them, such as Hex-A-Mit, or Flagyl?

I've got a med called Protozin, but it doesn't list it's ingredients. Is made by Waterlife Research Ind Ltd in the UK..

Just started treating her with this, hope she pulls through

Hey that is a co-incidence, however there's no soccer allowed in my tank! My fish are strictly Union fans :good:

Will let you know how she goes with the Protozin course. She ate a few blood worms last night, not really taking to flakes though. Seems interested and just sort of stalks them. If they don't get pushed away with the filter she'll have a taste then spit them out..

Still no poop and the lump is still there.

i think i might be down to feeding them to much fatty foods due to the angels eating the discus beefheart, goin to move the angel to my hospital tank the weekend

lol at beckham in the reflection

i dont like useing any medication
