I've got a serpea tetra that's a year or two old since I"ve had her. one of 5. She got kinda bloated looking which looked like she was going to drop some eggs.
about a week later shes got some blistering happeneing. She's eating and swimming around fairly normal. My parameters are nominal. What could be going on and what do I need to do about it

Owwww.
The poor thing. That looks to me like an untreatable prolapse - a hernia, in effect. The abdominal wall has opened, and its her guts you see there. Eventually, it leads to an infection, and the fish dies. I've seen a few fish where this has calmed down and retracted, but it has always returned quickly.

Is there anything I can do? Or is this a let nature take it's course situation? I'm guessing this is not transferring to the other fish

No. Something swelled internally and the intestinal wall split It isn't communicable, but it is sad. To me, the choices are euthanasia, or letting nature take its time. I had a fish with a prolapse live for about 3 months once, but most die very quickly. It isn't common, but it shows up regularly here, in photos..

I agree, it looks to be something internal and not curable. If he is swimming and eating fine, you could let him live, but when he starts to show less eating, impaired swimming etc, I would most certainly euthanize unfortunately
