Tank....... 34 ltr AquaOne 380
Method....Fishless cycle.
Time so far....5 Weeks!
History... Set up tank (some mature media added)....added ammonia.
Week 1...ammonia started to drop and slight nitrIte showing.
Week 3... ammonia 5.0 to 0. in 24 hours....NitrIte sky high.....nitrAte just showing
Week 4... Had to go away for a couple of days. Neighbour added ammonia once. Returned to find ammonia 5.0 and nitrIte at zero??? Next day ammonia still high and nitrIte at 1.0. Did 90% water change then brought ammonia back to 5.0
Week 5 (now) Ammonia down from 5.0 to 0 in under 12 hours but nitrIte still up around 2.0+. NitrAte steadly rising again.
I guess it just stalled but why are the nitrItes still holding on??? Will it ever cycle......My fry in the main tank will be full grown soon
