so i think my dalmation molly is pregnant. i put it in my breeding net. now what?!?!??!?!?! ill post a pic of it in a few minutes

well when i didn't know what to do, there is a pinned message up on the main livebearers board at the very top that has very useful information about that. check it out! :D

It's not recommended that you put Mollies in a breeder net, as they are amoung the largest Livebearers and it can greatly stress them out. You don't want the mother to abort her fry, or have birthing difficulties. I woudl suggest you take her out, and let her give birth in the main tank. If you add in lots of hiding places, and floating plants, the fry should survive. Alternately, if you're serious about breeding, get a seperate fry tank. That's the best option. Then the mother can go somewhere when she's very pregnant, but it's a large enough space that she won't get stressed out. You also are able to grow the fry up in there, much longer then if they were in the breeder net. Fry tanks are definitely the way to go.
