Bleach But Not Soap?

I was wondering why we use bleach to sanitize stuff for our aquariums, and not soap? Wouldnt bleach be worse for fish? Or is it that it does not leech into plastic?

Bleach disinfects, evaporates out, and is easily neutralized with dechlorinator. Soap leaves a residue, and on its own does not kill bacteria. Bleach does kill bacteria, along with most viruses.
