Tank size: 180 litres

Water parameters: all ok

tank temp: 25 degrees

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior):

Black widow tetra has had darker tail than the others for a week or so approx. Now appears to be disappearing underneath, as if eaten away by something (disease rather than other fish I would say), seems to be red streaks appearing, today some white fluffy stuff. Fish still eating and swimming with the others.

Volume and Frequency of water changes:

Weekly water change, 1/4 of tank approx.

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: none

Tank inhabitants: Black widow tetras, cardinals, rummy nose tetras, bristlenose, corys, shrimp, frogs

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): 2 frogs

Exposure to chemicals: none

Thanks for any advice!

Your tanks quite overstocked.
Can you post water stats please.
What's the make of the test kit you are using.

What type of frogs are they.

I would isolate the sick fish and use a bacterial med, with the fins having red streaks in them, fins looking eaten away, white fluffy edging.

Make sure no fish or frogs are nipping the fish fins.

Thanks Wilder.

Water stats as follows: ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20 (but it always is, no matter how many fish, how many water changes I do). Test kits are API. I perform weekly water changes with gravel vac, approx. 1/4 tank each time. All other fish look fine.

Not sure what sort of frog, only know they are tropical, stay underwater and are very small.

Don't actually think the fish has white fluffy edging to tail now, think it is losing the skin on that part of its tail. Will isolate and treat with bacterial med.

Thanks again.

Ok.
Just wanted to look at water stats with the tank being overstocked.
If stats are good the filter coping.

Good Luck.
