Black pleco with white spots????

I was at Wal-Mart today to pick up a prescription. Of course I looked at the fish while I was there One of the plecs there was black with white spots and probably three to five inches long (I'm not good at estimating length). He didn't look incredibly healthy, but didn't look horrible either. Do plecs come in the black-with-white-spots variety? If so, is it common?

yep, theres quite a few matching that description, like Peppermint Plecs and some ancistrus have pronounced white spots as well...

It could have been ich too. Wal-mart fish aren't in the best health.

My guess is that it's a vampire pleco that's been there since before Halloween. (Poor little thing!)
