Hello.
I have 5 black phantom tetras, and when i got them around a month+ ago, and the majority of their bodies was black, but now they have started getting silver parts on the fins or where the fins join. Is this a sign of maturity? They seem to be healthy enough, and are acting normal.
Thanks for your time.

Does it look like a little silver shinny spot that shines when the light hits it the right way? If so thats just a part of what they look like because my tetras had it and when I first noticed it I thought it was the early stages of Ick so I treated the tank twice and it didn't go away so then I figured out thats what it was.

That is their natural color. Their body should be blackish/silver with black dorsal fins and even red front lower fins (pardon that I can't think of the proper name for those right now). There is a black spot around the gills that has blueish/silver irridescense to it. They are truely pretty fish.
