well first off, i just have to mention this, she dosen't hang out with her molly friend, she hangs out with my female betta, probably because she's black too  . but she has like some scales (i don't know what to call them) that aren't colored, they are like a dull gray. is that abmormal?

Probably not. She is most likely a dalmation molly with very few spots :D. Just to be on the safe side though, do the spots have cotton like growths on them? A goldish film over them? If so, some MelaFix should cure that, but if not, I think she will be fine. I've have mollies like that too. Hope this helps!

has she always had these light spots or are they a recent development? can you get a picture? sounds a tad abnormal to me, especially if they just showed up one day.

no, i just got her on sunday, i don't think there's anything wrong, cause she is acting like a normal molly. plus, i can't get her to pose for a picture.

She could have been picked on by another fish (For example, the female Betta). When I had a black Molly, and she was getting picked on by the male, she got lighter greyish patches on her from her scales being picked off, or something similar. Watch them, and make sure they don't get infected, or that they get fungused. Other then that, it could be coloring, though usually dalmations go from whitish to black, not black back to white...

well, when i said she hangs out with my betta, she hangs out as in following her ocasionally. and it couldn't have been my male, cause appearently he claimed some territory in the corner of the tank.

Is that all? Because if I recall, your profile said something about Angelfish, and a bunch of other fish. Maybe I'm mixing people up though.

Any of the Mollies could be being aggressive with her. At night is when they are at their worst, so perhaps something happened overnight.

Just watch it, and make sure it doesn't get infected, or fungused. Maybe add some Melafix if you want to. :)

So you only have the Mollies and the female Betta in one?

If so...still see my other post about the aggression. :p

yes, i see it, but the betta does nothing, i swear to god! i've only see it pick on one fish (in my old tank) and it was a ghost shrimp. XD XD ya, i got another female betta to put in my other tank, i wanted my molly sized betta in the tank witht the mollies.

ya, i just got a new 29 gallon recently, had a freind who had it filled up with water, cycled, but was empty, so i took it off his hands.
