I'm fairly new to fishkeeping, and earlier today I noticed my male black molly has been passing this white stringy poop. He'd in a non-cycled tank, but I am doing water changes to keep the ammonia less than 0.5 every day. What is causing this and is there anything I can do to treat it?

Thanks

White stringy poop can indicate quite a few things.
Tank cycling so not good, constipation what do you feed the fish.
Is the fish bloated or gone thin.
Just check the anus to see if it red enlarged and inflamed.
Try some shelled peas on the fish.

I feed them tropical flakes and occasionally some bloodworm. It doesn't appear to be thin or bloated. The fish seems generally happy and healthy, just occasionally this stringy white poo.

Tried the shelled peas on them this morning and they are still sitting on the bottom of my tank.

To much of a high protein diet, more frozen food variety and veg.
Remove the peas and try them again they don't always touch them the first time, feed them when there hungry as the first meal of the day, mush between fingers into tiny peices.
