My Black Molly just had her babies! New Year Babies! I had to move her over to the breeder tank because the Male would not leave her alone and she was obviously in labor. So she decided to have them when I went to watch the ball drop. I came back upstairs to see tiny little black dots in the tank, SO CUTE! The only thing is, on the bottom of the breeding trap, there are some under developed fry, some living, some not. I dont know what to do? Should I clean it out? It is really sad because some of them look like their bellies are still yolk. And one looks like it has a broken back... If anyone could help it would be appreciated it!

Also there is this lime green little ball in there too, is that an egg?

Thanks!

Not experienced enough to help with this.Try posting it in the general or emergency sections where it will get more viewers.

It is possible that moving her caused her to give birth prematurely.
The ball like thing could be an undeveloped egg.
I would remove the obviously dead fry.
The one still with yolk sacs possibly gave a chance

Well she just pretty much swam into the trap, my male would NOT leave her be! She was hitting plants and knocking them out of the gravel. I felt bad because she looked like she was trying to find a spot to give birth to the babies. Thank you, I wasnt sure if we should let them in there or not. They are looking better today, we have 31 little babies that are alive, only 5 didnt make it. So atleast the turn out was not bad. It is so interesting to see the color patterns on the babies!
