OK I have dealt with white spot before and know it's easy to treat and there are lots of good antidotes out there...but my main problem is my Black Ghost Knife - I've only had him about 6 weeks or so, and I've read up on the net a few times and it says that they aren't good with chemicals or treatments, I did have a spare 20gallon tank that I would have used for him...but I used it about a week ago for two goldfish! :fish:
I have a goldfish bowl tho - should I move the goldfish there and put the BGK into the 20 gallon one? It doesn't have a powerful filter, but has a heater in it...I don't know what to do - please help someone, my poor clown loaches and kissing Gourami have the white spots BAD! :-(

I would treat the whole tank, and maybe start off with half a dose, turn temp up to 30, increase aeration with an airstone as the med and high temp will reduce 02 in the water.
How many gallons is the tank the black ghost knifefish as they need a 250 gallon tank.

Thanks Wilder for the advice . I think I'll try that - so do I do that with the BGK still in the tank?
He/she is in a 380 litre...not sure what that is in gallons tho, someone said it's 100 US gallons but not sure how many in UK gallons lol. I always knew it'd need a bigger tank once I read up on it, my dad and I are sorting out the loft to make a sort of 'mini zoo' where we will keep the bigger fish tanks and other animals as we've ran out of room downstairs! Hopefully it will be ready in a month or so...by the way how long do you recon it would take before the water in a new tank would be ready for my BGK? Know how some fish are more hardy than others...
Anyways, I hate my poor fish getting whitespot, on my way to work i'l go to my lfs to ask about it but I'm starting to prefer getting info on here...different pet stores give out different info
Thanks again wilder and any more info is more than welcome! :D

Yes only use half the dose on the black ghost fish as some fish are very funny with meds, as for the tank, could take some mature sponges out of the present tank and add to the new filter, or get a filter going now in the main tank.
