Black Ghost Knife And Ick

I don't know if it's ick, but I'm afraid it is. There is a white on my BGK, it looks like a thin layer of white. What does ick look like?

Back in the winter Blade got burned, he would swim to close to the heater. Now the white is where he was burned, so could this just be scarring?

That doesn't sound like ich. It could just be scarring or trying to heal back up. He may also be trying to produce extra slime to heal it. Be sure to keep his water clean, and use a slime coat conditioner. This would help him heal also.

A Slime Coat Conditioner..............this is medicine right. Can I get it at any LFS? I don't have him in a hospital tank, he's in a tank with other fish........so will it hurt other fish if I use it?

I agree its not whitespot.
Fungus can grow on dead tissue.
Need to look at size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.
When fish are stressed they won't heal to well, so need to look further into the tank to see whats going off.

No it's just like water conditioner, however it just has added stress coat protection. There is a product called Stress Coat, it's made by API. See the following link HERE
