Hi all,

At the end of the month i am going to redo my tank.. The sand is coming out, lights upgraded, Gravel in and going planted. I May add some more fish as my corys will be rehomed in another tank which will leave me with 2 angels and 10 neons.

Does anyone know of anywhere that i could get black/dark gravel? i saw in my lfs that they had tubs of 2kilo for £5 but for my tank id need like 10x that? Would getting gravel from a gardning centre be ok or from some where else -_-

Thanks

Kev

Lots of gardening centers having pet sections in them, at the nearest one to me they have more fish, products and plants than Pets At Home.

You should find out about your local garden center then give them a ring, and see if the stock the dark gravel.

You can also order it online, there are many companies that will deliver for you, use google and try find the cheapest prices :)

Pets at home do a nice fine black gravel it's £10 something for 25kg, I have used it in my Small Study Aquarium, in my large aqaurium I also used fine black gravel but from Maidenhead Aquatics in bigger bags but it wasn't as dark more slate colour.

Try and buy natural dark gravel rather than painted as it looses colour over time..

Hmm theres a pets at home near me so i mite try them :) thanks and i will get the phone book out tomorrow and ring some gardening centers :D

thanks all
