Black Convict Cichlids and Tiger Barbs?

I’m moving and can’t take my black convict fish with me because I’m afraid he won’t survive the trip. My brother offered to take him, but we’re not sure if our fish are compatible.

Can my black convict share a tank with tiger barbs?

No, I'm afraid not. Convict cichlids are not community fish in the sense of non-cichlid fish. Plus the Tiger Barbs are well known to fin nip sedate fish and cichlids are sedate, meaning, they cruise around.
