From what I hear, betta's with a pure black color are actually not natural in the wild.
My own betta has mostly black, with some red and blue. but what I also hear is that they can not breed.

Is this true?

None of the colors we normally associate with bettas are natural in the wild. You'll never see bright colors (or solid black) on bettas in the wild. The domesticated betta splendens are very very different from the wild splendens.

Melano black females cannot reproduce. However, melano black males and superblack females can. :)

So how about a crowntail that has black mixed into the fins. Male.

He should have no problem?
