I've had black beard algae growing for sometime. Done loads of reading and established that I might have been over fertilizing. In meantime, its practically covered my fake plants, although the real plants, decor and glass are all clear.
I've used double dose of Florish Excel yesterday and today. I'm now about 8 hours after the second dose and most of it has turned red already, some of it is grey.
Should I continue dosing, or will the algae continue to die now without further dose? If dose, should I stay double or just the recommended?
Also, can anyone advise, will the dead algae actually drop off. Or will I need to scrape it off the fake plants?
Final question, I have two juvenile Bristlenose, I know they don't eat Black Beard Algae, but will the Flourish Excel kill any of the algaes that the Bristlenose liek to eat? Will they be affected by the dosing?
