I noticed that Birstall Garden centre also sells Tropica plants.
Are the quality of their plants as good as those from Aqua Essentials?

I would normally purchase from Aqua Essentials but they don't have some of the plants available.
I heard somewhere that AE keep the plants growing constantly while they're being stored unlike other Tropica stockists such as pets at home which let them die.

Cheers,
Mike

ive now bought 6 pots from pet at home (3 for £9)

i wouldnt say they are the best but if you get them fresh (when they come in) they seem fine

look healthy and big

but im not that clued up on plants atm but they look better than the ones i bought on another internet site (not tropica plants)

In essence they are the same product so the quality is the same wherever you buy it from. However Birstall as far as I know don't look after their plants as well as AE, who have set up a whole hydroponic system, that means that not only do the plants survive but actually grow when with AE. I think AE is slightly cheaper to, but not 100% sure on that.

Sam

EDIT - if AE don't have the plants you want, email Richard via the website. Providing Tropica have them in stock, he can order any plant you find on the tropica website.

I bought most of my plants from Birstall after spending a long time trying to find a source for Tropica plants (before AE started to sell them). So far I've been impressed with everything I've had from them, not sure how the prices compare to AE but when you order a sword and it comes with two healthy babies attached you can't argue :D

I've had Tropica plants from AE and Birstall. AE were better quality IME. The plants in question were both Eleocharis acicularis BTW.

Thanks,
I've just e-mailed AE and they said they would have some available in a week. I am very pleased with the quality of the plants at AE so far, so I think I'll stick to them. This will be my fourth order from them.

Cheers,
Mike
