my LFS had a male and female in the other day for very cheap, i was just wondering how mature you guys would say a tank to house them would be? ive got a 4FT tank that has been runnin for 4 weeks, cycled in 2 and had 3 small blue damsels in it for 2 weeks now, i understand the wrasse will probably eat the damsels but was just wondering how mature a tank you would recommend? im aware it probably needs to be older but yeah, just wanted to find out cheers :)

I have a green birdnose wrasse that I got when my tank was about 4 - 6 months old. I have now had him for a year. He has not eaten or tried to eat my damsels or any other fish. I feed him sinking pellets twice a day and frozen meaty foods like brine shrimp, plankton, silversides a couple of times a week. I see him chase other fish, but I have seen other fish chase him too. He has never harmed any other fish from green chromis to damsels to six line wrasse. He is very entertaining to watch. Just remember they need plenty of swimming room. All my live rock is in three bunches down the middle of the tank so he can have many places to swim. I hope this helps.
