Ok, I think I need a new filter for my 10g, and my first choice was a Biowheel filter. But if I inject CO2 in the tank, won't the biowheel be bad for the plants because it gets rid of CO2? I suppose I could make something that would keep it from splashing though, right? Like something that goes right below the biowheel. Your thoughts, please?

All I can see the bio-wheel doing is adding more O2 to the water. If you are adding the CO2 low enough there should not be any problems caused by the filter, I would think.

But here (near the bottom) somebody told me that if you inject CO2 then having surface agitation would bring CO2 out of the water. Don't biowheel filters cause a lot of surface agitation?

Bio-wheels do drive off CO2 due to their surface agitation.

Personally I'd go a for a small external in a "high-tech" 10G.

Another option is a HOB, but these also drive off a fair amount of CO2, even when the water level of "topped off", for instance I need to run 30 bubbles per minute in 2.5G to reach 30ppm.
