Two months ago I bought 5 wild caught cupid cichlids. There is not a lot of information out there on these guys. But based on what I've read, I have all males. Males have broken blue stripes on their lower jaw line. Females have spots. Here is one of mine.

Now I've read that there are very few females out there and one theory I read online is that most biotodoma are wild caught and the females are lower in the water column therefore don't get scooped up by the fishermen. I also read that the sexual dimorphism (differences) does not present until they are two years old, so I may have females just don't know it yet.

Can anyone confirm either of these theories? Anyone have a female that they could post a picture of?
