Alrighty!! So my impatients is catching up with me and I'm really getting tired of waiting for my tanks to cycle :p lol
I finally got some extra cash today and ordered some Biospira online. Should get here at the end of the week (if they ship it on monday)... hopefully sooner.. figured it would be ok since it's cold outside plus the place sends it with an icepack :D

Anywho! I'll be using it on the 28gallon that currently has fish in it.
My 10gallon that i've been fishless cycling with ammonia
And the quarantine/hospital tank that has 2 fish in it.

Is Bio-Spira safe to use in the tanks with the fish already in them?
Also, in the 10gallon I'm using the ammonia in... ammonia reading is between 4-8 at the moment. Should I do a water change before I put the biospira in to lower the ammonia some? Or will the bacteria in the biospira be able to cycle the tank with all of that ammonia in it?
Also since the tank would be fishless during the cycling process from the BS....would I have to add ammonia for however long it takes it to cycle? How much?

If it will work with that much ammonia, I think I will do the 10 gallon first, get it cycled, take all of the fish out of the 28, add ammonia to it to get it nice and high and then add the biospira to it... *nodnod*

So yeah.. any help would be appreciated!

It should be ok to put it in with fish, seeing that it is just the bacteria that your tank is suppose to have anyway. Isn't too much ammonia bad for the bacteria? I believe, I read somewhere that too much ammonia will kill them. Are you sure they are going to ship it on Monday, being that it is a holiday?

Oh crud.... I totally forgot about that! BLEH... Ok.. so will probably be getting it later than I had hoped lol.

Hmm.. I guess I'll do a small water change then. Get ammonia to about 4 or 5ppm. That should be ideal :D

ive never heard of too much ammonia being a problem, i would get it in as much as it says on the packet as soon as you get it

Oh Of course I'll read the instructions heh. But you know it won't mention every scenerio and all and was just hoping for some input from people who have used it or know alot about it.. ya know? :)

I've heard you can't use it in a tank with fish.

Hrmmm... I'll probably just do my 2nd option then. Use it on the 10gal, let it cycle, move fish to it, then use it on the 28gal.
UGH.. I really hate trying to catch those danios though. Gonna have to remove everything and hope I don't damage my plants too much :S

I've used it twice with fish in the tank and didn't have any problems. The ammonia dropped the next day and the nitrites after 2 days, by the third day everything was 0. Although, I did have some media from a cycled tank, so my results might not be typical.

Hum........Well... I'm not gonna really trust what the maker of the product says lol. B/c according to the makers of Cycle, it'll help cycle your tank quicker!.... pfffttttt....

Hmmm... I really don't want to move the fish... but if I absolutely must I will. I dunno though. I'll just have to decide when the stuff gets here.

Cycle by nutrafin not very good it takes ages.
Asked tolak and he said you can use it with fish in the tank the bio spira.

Yeah...wish I had looked up some more reviews about that Cycle stuff before I got some.. worthless bottle of  ...
Anywho! Thanks so much for the help :)
If people are saying that it's fine then well.. I'll take their word for it & try it myself :good:
