Is Bio-spira the best bilogical additive to instantly cycle a new tank? I see other brands such as Cycle by Hagen with the same description & purposes.

They don't cycle your tank instantly they help to speed the bacteria colony up, I used when first started the hobby benifical bacteria by nutrafin.

but the reviews say i can add the fish right away after adding this.

I'm not faimilar with that bio-spira but it could do, some other members will tell you, good luck.

I used bio spira and it didn't work for me. On the 3rd day I still got an ammonia spike. I ended up doing water changes for several days in a row to keep my fish alive.

To be 100% sure, just do a fishless cycle with the starter stuff. If the starters don't work, no harm, no foul. If the starters do work, then you can stock as normal. And, most importantly, no fish hurt.
