Hello, I plan on moving sometime this year and need advice on what I should do to be successful.

I have a 20 gallon planted tank with neon tetras, a betta, and snails. As well as a 40 gallon goldfish tank with three goldfish and a pleco. The drive is 5 or 6 hrs?, I was planning on using some 5 gallon buckets with airstones and a heater for the tropicals. I also planned to use a tub or bowl for the plants (green hygro, dwarf hair grass, and anubias).

I planned on keeping the filter media in some tupperware to keep the beneficial bacteria colony. Is this even possible?

Next time I visit the place I am moving to I will test the water so I can be more prepared for when I move.

Any and all suggestions will help, thank you.

You can put a small pump or airstone near the contained filter so the bacteria doesnt sie

Put the fish in bags, blown up. Just like you get them from the LFS. Place them in a chilly bin. they will be fine. Don't be tempted to have a look. Every time you look at them some of the heat will escape.
