What will look better in a 8ft tank, little fish or big fish?

I'm thinking neon tetras and that sort will be to small to even fill the tank, am I right?

What sort of good big fish can be good for a beginner to keep?

i my opinion big tank big fish
would need around 100 neon tetras :p would look good though

Well, what do YOU like? Figure out what you like, activity wise, visual, that type of thing.

I agree with Ninja it really depends on what you like and want. I have a 6ft 150 gallon and I plan on making it a community tank of smaller fish! :good:

I would love a community tank that size, couple of big plecs would be nice along with a nice shoal of rummy nose tetras :good: (other fish too obviously  )

I would really love a planted tank that size, but you would need very deep pockets!

i like the size of something of maybe a oscar or something along those size, do you have to gradually add fish or may i add about 4-5 at same time?

I'd say a Hardy Community consisting of Larger Gouramis, more docile cichlids like Severums etc, maybe a few Angels, decent sized cats etc etc..

do common plecs get on well with most other fish? how many common plecs can you keep in a 8fter?
Plecs are very peaceful but depending on the type get very big. They also can be territorial with other males

I personally like a lot of little fish with maybe 2 or 3 larger fish as centerpeice fish. I just think it gives more interest and more to look at in the tank.
