This was a bit of a surprise, but my partner will be moving to London in a few days for a work placement (only just found out), and something we'd been looking forward to is getting the fish together - so, we'll be getting the fish tomorrow.

As my water results are looking reasonably good already, I'm hoping I've built up enough bacteria to support my fish already, but I'll be doing water tests a few times a day and water changes as necessary (lucky I have plenty of spare time eh!! lol) I'm not going to let my fish suffer at all!

anyway, I feel ashamed for not completing the cycle, but will repent by constantly monitoring water for a few weeks! thanks for your advice with the fishless cycle - will be doing it that way with my next aquarium, and made a good start on this one! will let you know how my fish get on and post some photos etc. :) and I'm sure I'll be back for more advice soon!

thanks!! :)

I urge you to re-consider. It's really not the best option. However, if i can't persuade you, i'll do my best to help you with your fishy cycle.

Good luck to you and the fishies. :good:

Hi BTT - this has been a really difficult decision to make, but as my partner wont be around for another three months and this is something we were looking forward to doing together, I think we'll be getting them today. In a real emergency I do have a friend who can look after the fish for a few weeks in their aquarium, but I'll be doing my best to keep things under control!

thanks!
