Thats the only current pfotos i have at the moment. i hope to get some better ones when i can get batteries for my DSLR. stupid point and shoot always focuses at weird places.
does anyone have good tips for ISO settings?- just mucking about with it but my tank just looks overly green and not very sharp. guess more practice will do it

the bichir will eat the shrimp eventualy. at that size mine at a fighter.
also i beleive is a White-Eyed Moray. i used to have a 2ft one, they are large FULLY MARINE predators and shouldnt really be sold to you as a freshwater moray. as i am assuming thats why you had it?

other than that, those discus are AMAZING are you planning on breeding and selling their fry?
btw is the crayfish still in there?

Hi guys, thankyou for your kind words.

first thing i need to clear up is that most of those photos are old.

current stocking is
2- 7' discus
1- 3' senegal bichir
1 royal whiptail
2 siamese algae eaters(flying fox?)
a handful of neon tetra, white cloud minnows and rasporas for the bichir to dine on.

tank is a custom,300L 2 foot cube, with a custom 150 L sump. all 10mm glass.

kribensis12: -watched those discus for over a month at the LFS, as far as i can tell, there is one male, one female, and they appear amourous (haha). wheather they breed-
- thank you, i really do enjoy my aquarium, the greatest source of procrastination i know

pinkdolphin_113: -i appreceate the bichir may grow too big for the tank, but i have a 4 foot long ready and waiting( less volume but larger footprint), i beleive that there is plenty of space for the discus.
-the moray was a gymnothorax tile. i kept him for 4 weeks, in which time he tripled in length and girth, but alas, i hate keeping fish in less than the best conditions- so i returned him to the lfs, to brackish water.
-glass shrimp are there as disposable cleaners
-i kept my clowns for a year and a half, but that one( my favorite), just never grew and stayed skinny- tried treating for all sorts-didn't help.

kubora666: -as i said above, its so hard to know if you have a breeding pair. i'm not really set up to breed anyway. think i'll just let nature take its course.

AdAndrews: - I'm sure you could have discus. truly beautiful and characterful fish. unfortuneatly they are very very picky of water quality and ph. they are also huge sooks- and stress very easily.
i beleive they aquaria bred ones are more and more resilient, but it can be an expensive excercise,

No way in hell those discus are 7" (you said 7 feet but im assuming you ment inches), Unless thats a 300 gallon tank those are clearly juvinille discus and if you managed to grow them to 7" in that tank then I seriously am selling all my discus, tanks, and moving to Antartica and getting married to a Penguin.

I am surprised they are so bold in that tank, them not being a pair and all! In case you didn't know, normally we like to keep Discus in groups of 4 or 5 minimum.

How often are you doing water changes on the Discus tank?

Jim Curtis: -easy fella. inches is not a measurement i often use, and neither are gallons. discus are about 11cm diameter. you'll have to forgive me.
-best of luck with the penguin speed dating.

DiscusLova: -I am hoping to add to the discus. a larger group will definately be better for them. this new project tank has cost me a pretty penny, so future stocking will take time.
-the two i have were very bold ,strong eaters and well matched in the shop, so i hoped they would do well as just a pair to begin with.
-filtered water is uv sterilised and water change is 25% per week religeously. its only fair to keep water quality as best possible.
