I have an angelfish about 3 inches across in a 40 gall tank and 4 small angels about 1 inch across in another. Eventually I would like to put all 5 in a bigger tank, but wondered when would be the best time (size wise for the smaller ones) to do this? Will the bigger one go for the small ones?

sorry - I think this may be moved as I think I've put it in the wrong section

As long as they are too big to fit in the larger angel's mouths, they should be fine, unless the larger angels pair off. In that case, they will go after any angel, large or small. I've had angels with 1/2" body size in with adults, 3"+ body size without any problems.

If you are putting them all in a new tank, put in the smaller ones first. If you put in the larger ones first they may establish territories. Provide plenty of plants or other decos as hiding places for the smaller guys just in case the bigger angels want to play rough.

Thanks for that Tolak. When my big tank is reset up again, I will do just that - cheers.
