What are your plans for the babies once they're born? Do you want to show? Do you want to improve the species in some way? Breeding is fun to think about, but take it from someone who has bred in the past, it takes A LOT of money (like $1,000+ to do it properly) and A LOT of time, if you don't have a few hours a day dedicated to water changes, setting up live food cultures, ect. then don't even try.
I am not trying to talk you out of it but I think you need to think about what you may be getting yourself in to. Do you have live food cultures for the fry to eat? They need live food until they're about 10-12 weeks old, so you need to get your hands on cultures of vinegar eels or microworms (or both) and baby brine shimp.
You need a 5-10 gallon for breeding and a 20+ gallon growout tank to transfer the fry into when they are about 5-6 weeks old. You need to be able to jar 100+ juveniles if the need arises, and be able to keep them warm, and do DAILY water changes on their jars.
As for the pair you have pictured, the male appears to possibly have fun rot. And the females fins look odd, like they've been kind of "melted together" Which can be a sypmtom of ammonia poisoning. What size tank is she in and how often do you perform water changes on it?
