Better To Get Fish In Odd Numbers?

Hi, I remember reading somewhere that it is better getting fish in odd numbers rather than even #s. It had something to do with the fish being more active and school together in odd numbers compared to even numbers, if you get, say 4 clown loaches, they may pair up and not really school together. In contrast if you were to get 5, then chances are they would be more active.

Just wondering if this argument is valid?

It's pretty pointless, schoolers generally don't pair specifically, and if they do, it makes no difference. Taking wild schools into account, they don't count every member and decide tto dissapate if there is one more than to have everyone in a pair.

but schools of 5 are much prittyer than schools of 4.
