Better Stocking Choice? ( Another One Sorry)

Hey all, i bought my mum a 40L tank and am in the process of a cycle
So i was wondering which fish would look better? i am going to try and heavily plant it - if i can get it to look good
The betta we were looking at was a halfmoon, but because it is off livefish- no good betta's in LFS's- i cannot choose colour, but i think it comes in either purple of red ( from comments )

Both green neons and ember's are off livefish aswell, and they do not have any of the other fish that have been suggested to me, so this or www.livefish.com.au you can choose some other options

What about 6-8 harlequin rasboras or red rasboras

Okay. I went looking through the rasbora section on there because I was thinking about recommending boraras brigittae, but saw those little guys instead. Oh yeah and 6-8 red rasboras would be a good number for that tank
PS. I voted for the reds, as they are stunning little fish

Do you have a backup plan incase the Betta doesnt tolerate tank mates?

Not really the only other tank i have is my 90L, but it has the flame dwarf gourami in it. I do have a 30L glass tank sitting around doing nothing, but it has no lights or heater to go with it.

I voted for red rasboras and harlequins. They would tolerate your gourami
I think ff2 meant leave the Berta where he is and move tankmates if he doesnt like them.
