They sell a picture frame tank at my LFS. It's about £250. about 2 inchs or so in dept, and a about 12 inchs in lenth, they only ever have a couple of small guppies, or a small shole of neons, at least at the price not many will but it, but I must say it looks stunning even with just 2 small fish in.

i can understand why people buy it. it probably looks pretty cool hanging up on your wall with a pretty fish in it. of course that is only the first day, before the little guy gets depressed and the tank is dirty.
there is on at my lfs for a hundred or so dollars. it's very dirty and everytime i go there i peep in and there is a very skittish fish that hids behind a rock placed in there. poor guy, i can't believe he's still alive.
