I left my betta's in the 20 gallon community tank, and I noticed right now that the female is skinnier, so I looked more into it, and I find a whole bunch of eggs with the male guarding them! I'm happy that they spawned but I didn't even mean for them too! What should I do now? I scooped them up with a little bucket of water and put em in my 5 gallon tank so they won't get eaten, the male didn't seem to mind and your supposed to remove the male after a couple days anyways right?

Please don't get mad that I removed them from the male, I panicked :(

I'm no expert on bettas,i think you suppose to remove the female after she spawns and i think the male guards the eggs until they hatch and are free swimming then you remove the male.

Dont know if it'll make a difference removing the eggs from the male.

I think it could cause problems removing the male from the eggs.

I've never bred them myself. But I know for a fact that up to a few days after the fry hatch the male spends all of his time collecting fry/eggs and putting them back into the nest.
