I was quite surprised just now as I just caught my male fighter happily munching on some snails I had crushed earlier for my catfish to eat. I have not known a fighter to actively hunt down (and he was hunting the remains) long dead (well a couple of hours at least) dead creatures. He loves eating mozzie wrigglers but wasn't fussed by defrosted bloodworms so him eating the squashed snails has really come as a surpirse. He also has some cherry shrimp in his tank, which I have recently seen a couple of babies of so it wouldn't surprise me if he has also been scoffing them.
