Once my female betta has died, I plan on getting a male in replace of her.
Before that, I'm thinking of buying a couple of guppies.
I was wondering if bettas and guppies mix well, or whether I should avoid buying some.
Thanks! :)

No you shouldn't. Male Betta's think guppies are other male betta's and will fight them.

Agreed...not a good mix. I think a betta is always best by itself.

sorry , no way it is just best to leave a betta in its own tank they are truly more happy that way. ;)

Okay.

My dad is going to set up my old biOrb in the kitchen, and I'm going to leave 6 neons in there. Would it be okay to have a singular male betta in there with them?

To reiterate what has already been said. No. A male betta is best left alone.
