Hi, i have a betta that is female. Ive had her for 6 months and shes always been large. My sister had her before that for 3 months. I think she might be dying of old age. She isnt moving as much as she did 2 days ago and yesterday, and when i fed my fish, she went to the food, looked at it, then watched it float away. I have a 10 gallon and it has 2 other female bettas, i clean iot often, and my stats are :
Nitrate-20
Nitrite-0
Hardness-25
alkalinity-0
ph-6.8

i put this in the betta section and im not getting much help. i put her in a 5 gallon tank to herelf with a filter, all new water. i put in some salt and should i add jungles fungus clear????? last time it turned my tank green....

also she doesnt eat when i feed her, she goes to the top of the tank and watches it float away. also the tank she was in was fine and i did 2 water changes today.....

What do you feed the fish, can she maintain her balance in the water, does she go to the toilet if so what does it look like, if she not eating not good.
Sounds like a bacterial infection to constipation, any way try some shelled peas, cook for a few minutes in boiling water, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to her tank.
Also add some salt to her tank to try and reduce the swelling, if no epsonsalt, table salt will be fine, one tablespoon to 5gal.

yeah she had peas the past 2 days. i added the salt and now im gonna add fungus clear by Jungle

EDIT: I fed them peas and BettaMin Tropical Medley Flakes

but she isnt bloated...... and my medicine treats dropsy, fungus, tail-rot, clamped fins, and hemorrhagic septicemia

If she not eating you could try this method the cod liver oil, but you cannot feed her for two days.

And what makes you think she is suffering from any of them symtoms, as i don't see it, she fat and bloated through a bad diet.

Ok, but if she not eating i would try the cod liver oil method, a fish needs a good diet like us, of frozen foods, and veg to stay healthy.
