Betta With White Stuff On Head

Hi,

there must be SOME one on here that owns bettas!!??

One Betta fish in 2 gallon tank, about 80%, only thing I add is clorine neurelizer -

I've had my Betta for two months. Unfortunately, I waited 3 wks to do the last tank change (80% of water) (we were on vacation). On tues. night I noticed the white patch on near his gill about 1mm in diameter. He was/is not eating well. I'm treating with Ick medication as of last night. Although, I did think ick was more spotty and smaller spots. This morning he is the same, although the white 'patch' that looked more bulbus, almost transparent tumour like, is just white fluff. Still not eating. I'm afraid he will pass on, he is looking very sad. Do you think this is Ick? Is it too late to treat? The first I noticed was this large patch, never smaller dots, and there is just the one.

Any help appreciated!

It columnaris if its fluffy and bad water quality can cause it.
Need to change the med to a bacterial one.
