I'm setting up a 10g planted tank that will house a male betta but I thought it would be nice to add some (5) tetras. Maybe cardinal or black neon tetras. I know bettas are aggressive to their own kind but will they be aggressive to these tetras too?

More likely to be the other way round. Tetras are notorious nippers, and those long flowing fins are just too much temptation. I wouldn't recommend putting a betta in with tetras. Of course, some people have no troubles but when you're dealing with fin rot from nipped fins - it really doesn't seem as if it was worth the risk!

I fully agree, i really wouldn't as your betta runs the risk of getting ripped to shreds.

Ok, I think I'll just go with a betta and maybe a few corydoras. Those will be fine right?

They should be fine together just make sure that the cories will not out grow the tank and they have a nice shoal.

Panda cories are lovely.
