Did a major overhaul on my betta tank today. Hornwort was polluting my water big time, so I pulled it all out, fixed the water stats (which have been up and down for the past month), and made everything good-as-new. Noticed my crowntail Betta has a white "dot" on the center of his right eye. He only has it on the one eye, so I'm sure this is isn't normal. the dot is about the size of the point on a pin, dead center on his eye.
He's in a 5 gallon tank, divided. Heated, filtered, with sand substrate and live plants (hygrophila polysperma, cryptocoryne wendtii "red")
What is this? What kind of treatment is necessary? Is it contagious? (Will the betta on the other side of the divider get it from the water?
