When I change my fishes water I always use Spring water in the plastic jugs. I was wondering what the difference is between that and using say a Brita water pitcher.

Brita will remove a lot of the minerals from your tapwater, which is kind of good and bad. You need minerals in your water for health reasons (fish included) but the Brita will also remove impurities, which is good.

Before making any drastic changes like that you must do 1 thing, test the PH! Test the PH of the spring water then test tapwater then test Brita filtered water. If there's a large difference make sure you ease him into the new water slowly. Like 10% at a time :)

Oh ok. I always use the Spring water, but someone from another forum asked me about using a brita filter and I had no idea. But I knew where to go. :D
