Hi all,

I was at my LFS today, and I saw they had a little tank going at a ridiculous price!

And I was told that it is 15.5L ( approx 3.5 Imperial Gallons ).

My question is though, would that be big enough for possibly 2 bettas? Maybe even 3?

Thanks, D.

It would be fine for 1 male Betta. You cannot put more than 1 male Betta in a tank and females must be in groups of 5 or more...you're tank is much to small for a group of females.

The ideal size tank for ONE betta is 5 gallons (19 ltr). With one betta in a 15.5 ltr tank you will have to do 40% water changes at least twice a week. You could maybe add a snail but any more would be over stocking your tank. It would definitely NOT be suitable for any more than that.

As far as keeping bettas in groups, only the females can be kept together and it needs to be in groups of 4 or more. For 4 bettas, you would need at least a 10 gallon (38 ltr) tank.

Yes, ONLY ONE for a tank that small, and never more than one male in any tank.
I wouldn't even recommend the kind with a removable divider down the middle, as they are just to small.
Bettas need heated water at a minimum of 75-76oF, and there are very few heaters, that I know of, that will work safely on anything smaller than a 5 gallon tank.
