ok so far i have learned they cannot live in filtered water, so what about water temperature? I see them kept in tiny little tanks- of course I'll get a size that he can swim around . is room temperature good enough? 24degrees?

ok i have now heard they can live in filtered water (i'm waiting for my betta book in the post..)

It all depends on the betta, some don't mind filtered water, you can also get small filters with spray bars that you direct towards the back of the tank to minimise flow.

24 is too low probably, they thrive on warmer water, you can buy heaters for 2-5g tanks, the Hydor Junior heater is a good one

yeah what size tank you keeping your betta in?

is it male or female your getting

mines a 30ltr but its split at the moment as im housing 2 boys my filter runs and it gives off about 3 bubbles a min
