Betta Tankmates

Atm I have a betta in a 2.5ft 16gal tank.

What fish would I be able to put in with him?

6 harleyquin rasboras, 6 celestial pearl danios, and a couple male endlers would fit nice
with a Betta In a 16 gallon

Also I have heard harlequins should be kept in groups of 12

Personaly i wldnt keep harls with a male betta ive nown them to be a little nippy and certainly not with gouramis

Galaxy rasboras instead of Harleyquins if the Harleyquins are too nippy

How about 2 platies and/or 2 cherry barbs?

Also I get the feeling galaxy rasboras would be very hard to find here in australia

I think you would need atleast 4 to 5 more cherry barbs if you wanted that to mix, and P.S. make sure that the platies don't have a lot of bright colors on them or else the Betta will go after them, and before you add the fish make sure that you move ALL you decor around so the Betta will not be aggressive towards the other fish because it is his territory

It took me forever to get the decor just right and it looks good IMO is there any other way besides moving decor?

Before you add any new fish you should quarantine them for at least 3-4 weeks anyways, so you could change the decor now, and before adding the new fish after their quarantine time is up, remove the Betta, change the decor back to how you like it, add the new fish and then the Betta.

A group of cories might make a nice bottom-middle dwelling addition. I would imagine that pygmy cories, peppered cories and panda cories would do nicely in your tank size with your betta.

hmm looks like i will need to move decor. in regards to stocking ill probably go with 6 harlequins and 6 galaxy rasboras and maybe some corys at a later date.

if anything goes drastically wrong ill just put the betta in a floating breeding trap.
