I've set up my 5 gallon ready for cycling before i get my betta, with it being a 5 gallon i assumed i could have a few tankmates, be it frogs or ottos or whatever.

Any ideas?

Thanks, orange shark

my betta lives with 6 harlequin rasboras, 2 pitbull plecos, 2 variations of the pygmy corydora and 3 panda corydoras :D
he used to live with zebra danios which he LOVED.....also hda some neon tetra but they are naughty fin nippers, so i'd avoid tetras!

Hi
5 gallons is a bit small for cory's, as they should be kept in groups. There are pygmy corys, but they do like a mature tank. Oto's also need the growth that a mature tank offers. Not sure about frogs, but some people have kept them with bettas.

The problem with having tank mates in a 5 gallon is that most small fish are shoaling fish. The smallest i can think of are White cloud mountain minnows or Copper harlequin rasboras (not the normal harlequins)

Hope this helps
