I have a 30 litre cube nano reef I am thinking of braking down. I'm not that taken with salt water.

I was considering using it as a freshwater shrimparium, but...

Could it house a single betta male?
Would the betta coexist with crystal or red cherry shrimps, or would they be food?
What about a male and two females?

I hesitate to ask the question because to my mind it would be WAY too small for a male and two females, but I don't know the fish, having never kept bettas before.

30 litres wold be fine yes. if the cherrys are big enough then the betta shouldnt eat them, but he would probably eat any babies. and no 30l isnt big anough for a male and any females. i think you may be able to put in a few endlers or some small fish, but i would check that with someone else on here first before doing it.

Males and females can't be housed together so that is out of the question.

In my experience Cherries *even adults!* are seen as food to 90% of Bettas both Male & Female, however I have had success with Algae/Amano Shrimp :good:
