Betta Tank Mate In A 5.5 G Tank

Hey, im planning on getting a tankmate for my betta in a 5.5 G tank with one live plant and 3 fakes. Cycled and heated tankk. Im planning on getting White cloud mountain minnows maybe 4 or 5. Is this okay? and what do i feed the minnows?

WCMM are very active and need a min tank of 15G IMO. Plus wcmm are subtropical and like temps about 15-22C where as bettas do best at 27-28 IME. Cherry shrimps would make a better tank mate.
