Betta Tail

where Jackson had a hole in his tail fin, has now turned into a grey flat oval sort of shape...is this fin rot?? I'm still waiting to find out where i can ger Betafix? Someone said i can't use metafix with Betta?
I wanna help him

ok..so now i know i can..do i need to seperate him? or can i dose the whole tank with the other fish???
ALSO..i have a carbon pad in my filter do i need to take that out..its been in there since end of August. THANK-YOU xx

Sorry I cant advise on your Betta but just to say on the carbon, I would remove it and only use fresh when your removing meds from the water. Carbon doesnt stay fresh for more than a few weeks and unless your replacing it that often its not worth keeping.

The grey oval forming would personally seem like the fin healing, bit like a scab on a cut. Then the grey will begin to turn into the appropriate colour over time. I haven't used the treatments you said, so it would be wrong of me to advise.

You can use the melefis, but you will need to dose it to the level that is safe for the betta.

ok..Jay was right i think....the tail look whole again now and the grey patch less prominant...so i think its healing itself...phew
Justout of intrest Dieses....can i use it with all the other fish in the tank too...or do i need to seperate him?

I'd imagine it would be best to separate any fish you're treating, just to be on the safe side.

I would separate them. I prefer not to treat fish that do not need it.
