hey guys i posted a few days ago that my new betta i got a week ago hasn'e eaten very much or at all, not entirely sure. I tried frozen peas about 2 hours ago and my newest betta i got today didn't even let it hit the bottom of the tank but the one i got a week ago just looked at it and swam away. I will be leaving it in the tank over night and do a water change tomorrow if the water tests are off. my LFS dosent stock the frozen worms (can't remember the name) thy will however ship them in but it's expensive.

i live in a sorta out of the way place and any really serious fish people in my area tend to special order things to get what they want.

How close are your two bettas? Bettas are extremely jealous fish and they want whatever someone else has, so if you move them close and he can see the other eating it may help.

Also try to stimulate him somewhat, gove him a mirror, some time with his flaring buddy, etc to get him going.

i only just got the second one today. he has been flaring at a mirror i place in front of him a couple of times a day. the guy at the pet store said that when i only had one it would give him some stimulation. i'll try placing the two by each other tomorrow. right now they are on seprate shelves of a bookcase.

If you only got him today he is probably just scared. It took mine about 2 weeks before he ate more than one pellet. (Now he's a pig!)

no i only got my second one today. the one that is not eating i've had for a little over a week now.

It took 10 days to get my CT male Ozzy to eat when I first got him. I guess the experience of shipping all over the place till he got to me was traumatic for him. He even used to put his nose up at bloodworms

I can't remember what got him eating finally but once he did there was no stopping him. Just keep trying different things for him and I hope he starts eating soon.

Ok, sorry. I misunderstood you. :)

He might still be nervous. Does he have anysigns of sickness? Bloated b elly? What kind of food are you feeding him?

he dosen't look sic in fact he looks healthier than the one i bought yesterday. He's build several bubble nests. i'm told that should mean he's happy.

i've tried betta flakes ( thats what they fed them at the store. I tried betta pellets . I tried frozen peas and nothing. maybe he's just not hungry i don't really know??????
