the "aquatic rooms" in edinburgh currently has a dozen or so juvenile betta simplex in. they seem quite nice, even in juvenile colour, they had a picture of how they look in adult colour and they are very prety. are they worth a go? easy to breed? £14 a pair

i would give them ago,But i would personaly put them in there own tank. They may breed but fry are very small and need loads of plants. The males are mouth brooders and hold them in ther emouth for about ?2 weeks? but im not sure.Hoping to get some soon,Hope this helps.Ben.

yes, they are wonderful fish. adult size is no more than 3 inches most likely less. They are mouth brooders and the males hold the eggs IF they spawn for approximately 2 weeks i think its like 18 days, its been awhile since i needed to remember that. if you get more than a pair get a reverse trio (male male female) as it is likely that if they spawn the female will harass the male to spawn again. they need their own tank. no less than 5 gallons.
