Betta Security House Warning

I bought a betta security house made by Tom Aquarium Products tonight and suction cupped it to the inside of my tank. I was very careful to make sure that the suction cups were fully flat against the tank glass. The store I had bought it at said they would take some fish I didn't want so I went back with them. When I came home the house had fallen down to the bottom of the tank and was wedged against a rock. The house has an open back but was stuck in such a way that the bettas were trapped inside and suffocated. I had only had the male crowntail inside it for a few days and planned to return him to Petco since he turned out to be all red and not cambodian but I still hate the thought of losing him this way. And the female was my brown and red feisty little crowntail girl that I absolutely loved. She had so much personality!


I have now siliconed the house to the tank glass as I had originally planned to do asap. I called the company and left a message and will be calling during their office hours tomorrow.
